BREWERY DANCE PLATFORM – 4 Day Festival of Dance

Thirty schools, 10 Brewery Youth Dance (BYD) groups and around 900 local young people will be involved in a four day celebration of dance, culminating in performances on stage at the Brewery.

Exciting developments this year include Boyz Sports Moves, supported by Sport England.  For the fourth day, BYD have created a special platform just for boys and young men. It will include a ‘Dad’s and Lad’s project choreographed by David Lloyd (of Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company).  The dances have been inspired by 2facedance, the all male company that recently performed at the Brewery and some created with support from Tae Kwon-Do expert Mr Doyle.

Now in its seventh year, the Brewery Dance Platform features a wealth of talent from across South Lakeland as hundreds of young dancers take to the stage. There will be dances created by Primary and Secondary schools and Further Education establishments, as well as new work by BYD.

Performances at the Brewery Arts Centre: 7pm, Monday 22, Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 March  2010. £6 per person/ £5 concessions.

NOTE TO EDITORS: Brewery Youth Dance have been selected to be part of U.Dance England and are performing at the Lowry on 14th March (after their great success in London with Oribody in July 08).
